Ever since they first started talking about having their own fusion marketing agency, Ty and Chris have frequently been asked what sparked the idea. After all, they already had successful businesses, why would they want to add more to their plates?
“We saw an opportunity to help them through the marketing agency.”
Ty and Chris have partnered with a wide range of businesses in the sports, hospitality and tourism, and events industries over the years. They’ve done a lot of work with helping sports organizations make travel and accommodation arrangements, and have collaborated with organizations at the local, national, and international levels.
As their companies grew and they formed lasting partnerships with clients, they would hear that clients weren’t reaching their goals, whether it was poor attendance or they weren’t targeting the right audience. Whatever the specific challenge each organization was facing, it seemed to all too often come back to their need for greater marketing support and better planning.
The level of marketing support those organizations needed wasn’t always easy to get. “There are a lot of big marketing agencies out there and even more small teams, but not a lot in the middle,” according to co-founder Tyler Childs.
Those bigger agencies are looking for million-dollar contracts and aren’t usually interested in serving small businesses with small budgets. On the other hand, the very small agencies typically only specialize in a couple of areas of marketing or simply don’t have the framework to do everything a small business may need to fulfill its marketing needs.
“The big reason we came together on all of these things is that we saw a gap because there were too many niches that weren’t being addressed,” Childs added. There needed to be something in the middle that could provide all the marketing essentials for small and medium-sized businesses. It shouldn’t be so hard for these types of businesses to get the support they need to continue to grow.
This prompted Ty and Chris to take action and find a way to help these organizations overcome their marketing-related obstacles.
“The fact that we already had a customer base showed us that we had an opportunity to help them through the marketing agency.”
That industry knowledge coupled with a marketing agency created the perfect opportunity to design solutions that get the job done while helping other businesses increase their revenue, audience, and reach.
“We’re those people who can help the ‘underdogs’.”
Above all else, the companies Ty and Chris have are all evolving small and medium-sized businesses, so they have first-hand experience with the types of challenges a small business could possibly face.
Their small business experience gives them a different marketing perspective since they know the budget constraints faced by entrepreneurs and start-ups. That means our team is responsible for designing creative and realistic marketing solutions for small businesses that are on time and on budget.
“For us, it was really about being able to elevate the game of other businesses that are, frankly, just like us.”
Organizations need a marketing plan that they can trust; one that recognizes that each organization has unique needs inspired by the holistic marketing approach Neon Supply has been built around.
Part of that approach involves meaningful collaboration between business owners and marketing experts. Ty and Chris have been witnesses to the powerful impact that teamwork has on the final deliverables. Partnerships achieve better outcomes than any individual effort ever could. At the center of every successful marketing campaign that tugs at your heartstrings is human connection, and a powerful partnership took that campaign from ideation to execution.
“We saw a market segment being underappreciated.”
Now that we’ve seen it, we can’t unsee it. We’re set on rectifying it and offering innovative solutions to build better outcomes for our clients. Marketing services shouldn’t be available just for businesses with massive million-dollar budgets. Any business that wants marketing support should be able to access services that will help them reach their goals.
Starting a fusion marketing agency isn’t an easy feat, but it’ll be worth it for Ty, Chris, and the rest of our team. The Neon Supply journey is just beginning, and it’s going to take marketing to new heights.
